Competition & registration
About the event
This is an event established for the Swedish teams as part of the Swedish MD World Championship trials.
The event will be played Thursday 30th of January-Sunday 2nd of February.
Group stage & Playoffs
There are 2 groups of 5 teams. Top 6 total from groupstage proceeds to playoffs where groupwinners go straight to semifinals. Ranked 3-6 total after groupstage plays a quarterfinal= 3-6, 4-5. The highest ranked team after groupstage will get the lowest ranked team in semifinal. Hammer or choice of color will follow the highest ranked teams in the playoffs. Ranking is determined by: 1. Wins 2. LSD
Practice & LSD
10 minutes before scheduled starting time there is 5 min practice per team where team first on the schedule plays first with yellow stones. Team that has had practice plays the clockwise followed by the counter-clockwise LSD.
This LSD is to decide hammer and later used to decide playoff-teams through the overall ranking if internal games are not enough. One LSD will be removed.

Travel
Closest major airports are Oslo Gardermoen and the two Stockholm-airports Arlanda or Skavsta. From all of these you have about a 3 hour car drive.
Hotel
Lots of hotels in Karlstad. Closest and most economic is the Carlstad Sport Hostel 3 min walking from the arena.
