The event starts Thursday @ 13.30 and finishes with the finale Sunday @ 12.00. Prize ceremony Sunday at 14.30, so you can make it home i good time.
The highest ranked team from the group stage gets hammer in all the playoff games.
Rules
The tournament is played according to the World Curling Federation rules and applies the five-rock rule as well as the no tick rule.
Warm-up
There will be a 5 min. warm-up for each team prior to each game, starting with the team mentioned first in the program (red rocks). After the teams warm-up, the 2 LSD’s are thrown and measured by the umpires. The warm up starts 15 mins. prior to the scheduled game time.
LSD
Two LSDs thrown after warm-up for each of the group games. The best score has the choice of hammer in the first end. An accumulated LSD score (worst LSD is deducted) is calculated at the end of the group play, to break possible ties. Each player must play two LSD’s: one with either turn. LSD starts with clockwise rotation followed by anti-clockwise.
Ranking
Teams are ranked in the group after:
W/L record.
W/L between the tied teams.
Accumulated LSD score after group play.
Ranking in play-offs wrt. hammer is based on group ranking. For example: No. 1 in group A will always rank higher than no 2 or 3 in the other group, regardless of number of games won in the group. If two teams with same group ranking face each other in a playoff game, the LSD score will determine hammer.
Games
First team in the schedule plays first stones and red color. All matches are played over 8 ends with an extra end if necessary. If no points scored are in the extra end the teams will play one draw to the button for the game. The team with the hammer in the extra will throw the first draw. Free choice of turn for the first team. The opposing team plays the opposite turn. Games are not timed, so please ensure a good pace, so we can stick to the schedule.
